The Balls Deluxe is a new overdrive/distortion pedal that aims to capture that holiest of holy sounds, a Rangemaster smashing the front end of a tube amp. The idea here is recreating that in pedal form to be used as a dirt pedal. The front end is the same circuit as the Ballsmaster. A germanium booster with a range control to go from the standard treble boost all the way to a thick, heavy bass boost. That pushes an amp-like gain stage into overdrive, with a master volume control to set overall level and boost. It’s an overdrive pedal, but not like you’ve heard before. Not a super mild or ‘transparent’ one, just simple, easy, and filthy.
