The Royale is an overdrive pedal that uses a solid state device to drive a 12AX7 vacuum tube preamp circuit. The sounds range from a smooth, light overdrive tone, to crunchy mid-level distortion, to high gain 80’s style lead crunch tones. Smooth bluesy tones to full hair metal chunk all in one box, with a full tone stack to dial it in just right.

These units are designed to work with a 12 volt, center negative power source. They will work, and still sound great, with a 9 volt center negative source (standard pedal power) but for optimum operation they should use a 12V source.
