This is a collaborative effort between myself and Michael Hambouz; a friend, neighbor and multi-talented artist. The aim of the project is to provide charitable, humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine. The name Zaytone is taken from the Arabic word “Zaytoun”, meaning olive, an ultimate symbol of peace.

The Pedal: The Zaytone is firmly rooted in the Arbiter Fuzz King / Sola Sound Supa Tonebender lineage. It features four silicon transistors and diode clipping, and is a slightly modified version of the classic Big Muff topology. Sonically, however these make a significant departure from the typical Muff sound due to the removal of clipping diodes one stage, making for a louder, more aggressive sound than their inspirations. This made for a very loud, in your face Big Muff sound. Tone control variations also make for a less-scooped sound, preserving some mid-range fidelity. Modern improvements have also been made to reduce the overall noise levels of the circuit. The units will be in a pedalboard-friendly 4.7 in x 3.7 in x 1.49 in (119 mm x 94 mm x 38 mm) format with standard LED and 9V external power source, as well as onboard battery.

The Cause: This collaboration is dedicated to providing charitable funding to organizations providing essential aid to Palestinian communities in need. As the region faces ongoing challenges, the charitable donations provided from this sale will contribute to essential relief and hope to those in need. Every act of kindness reverberates. Stand with us as we stand with those suffering in Palestine. $120 from every pedal sale will be split evenly between two charities:

MAP (Medical Aid for Palestine) provides immediate medical aid to those in great need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.

The Delia Arts Foundation provides refuge to displaced local artists and their families while actively preserving the Palestinian cultural heritage.
